TEENAGE DREAM

A GLIMPSE INTO THE LIFE OF A 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL LIVING IN LONDON

PHOTOGRAPHY BY SEREN JONES

Lola, Astrid, Novayah and Ruby are all fifteen years old. Growing up in inner city London, SISTERHOOD asks what's important to these teenage girls today.

What’s the best thing about being 15?

BOYS.

I appreciate being our age because we’re finally getting more freedom, our parents trust us a bit more, we can go where we want.

We’re lucky to be teenagers in London- imagine not being able to tube?! And your parents having to drive you around? I went to visit my cousin in Surrey and we actually had to pay money on a bus!

What the situation with boys at the minute then?

We don’t really have boyfriends, we just have tings. We’re too young for boyfriends. The thing with boys is that they all think they’re “certy”, they think they’re the shit.

What social media are you in to?

The difference between Instagram and Snapchat is that Instagram you use for nice pictures, whereas Snapchat you use to just chat to your friends and take pictures of yourself looking shit. I just don’t get Facebook - what’s the point in it?

What are your dreams for the future?

I want to travel, go to parties and meet guys.
