UK’S FIRST WOMEN ONLY MEMBERS CLUB TO OPEN ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2018

Though the first of it’s kind in the UK, women’s only clubs are expanding around the world and creating spaces for like-minded businesswomen. The success of The Wing, a female co-working space in New York, which opened in 2017, has seen the club grow to four more locations in the US. Already, before the official opening, The AllBright has a waiting list for membership.
As gentlemen’s clubs such as The Garrick Club refuse to allow women to be members, Sian Bourke from WIRED and member of AllBright, sees the benefit of women friendly spaces.
“Although it’s controversial, and some people think women only safe spaces are fighting fire with fire, I see it as a safe space to catalyse the success of women in London,” she said. “I hope there will be a time where we don’t need spaces for women to grow and connect, but right now it’s clear that the system and workplace we live in isn’t accommodating female success.”
Members attending the VIP ‘first look’ event at The AllBright included actor and founding member of AllBright, Naomie Harris OBE. Speaking at the event Harris said: ‘The self confidence and power that comes from female camaraderie can’t be understated. We all take strength from our girl friends when we face hard times.”

The first-of-its-kind women’s only members club for working women,The AllBright, is set to officially open its doors in London on International Women’s Day.
The AllBright is a space for women to grow their professional networks and celebrate and inspire female talent, with a mission to create female leaders in the UK.
Located in a five-storey townhouse in Bloomsbury, the club is the female remedy to the old boys’ network, allowing women to collaborate and network in comfort.
AllBright co-founder, Debbie Wosskow OBE, hopes the club will change the economic landscape for women.
“There is huge gender imbalance in the world of investing and in the number of women in leadership roles,” she said. “It’s time to try something different and to support each other in new ways, because we thrive most when we see what people like us – other women – have achieved.”
The club’s name is inspired by former US Secretary Madeline Albright’s famous remark, “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t support other women,” and each floor of the townhouse is named after a key female figure, such as Virginia Woolf.
